Director's Statement //
I create the documentary to explore the idea of using mushrooms as a better alternative to the current medicines that we currently use as a society. Big pharmaceutical companies push and advertise lab-made chemicals as the main form of modern medicine. I attempt to expose the possibility of mushrooms being a viable form of medicine physically and mentally. Mushrooms such as lion's mane have a great potential for helping neurons rebuild the myelin sheath, which is the main symptom of diseases such as Multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer's. Not only can mushrooms be a form of medicine that is natural but also have major potential for playing a role in helping curve the current climate crisis that we are living in. Mushroom mycelium can be used in circumstances where styrofoam would be used. Also, certain mushrooms can be used to break down durable carbon chains that exist in polluting plastics and oils.
